Harmful Algal Blooms in Chebacco Lake, MA

The presence of cyanobacterial blooms has been confirmed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Environmental Toxicology Program in Chebacco Lake at Centennial Grove in Essex, MA. If you are living in the area and either see or suspect an algal bloom, please notify the Hamilton Board of Health by taking pictures, if you can, and emailing them to lwhelan@hamiltonma.gov and ekirchner@essexma.org. Please also provide contact info of the person who observed the bloom, as well as the size, date, and location of the site.
